The Fanchon and Marco dance troupe, Cashin's employer, was contracted
to provide all on-stage entertainment in conjunction with Fox
films. In 1934, the producers asked her to move with them to work
at New York's Roxy Theater. Heralded as the youngest designer
to hit Broadway, she designed three sets of costumes weekly for
the twenty-four member Roxyette danceline, the precursors and
rivals to the Rockettes. Cashin also designed costumes for featured
performers, one of whom described her job as "making me beautiful,
in clouds of tulle that made me look like I was from another world."
