Michal Reed

Michal Reed received her M.F.A. in art/critical writing from the California Institute of the Arts, where she teaches part-time. Visual Studies Workshop Press published her book The Weight of the Body, and she has shown her work at Artworks, Woman-Made Gallery, James Corcoran Gallery, and abroad. She has also written articles and reviews for Leonardo, Art Papers, Artweek, Art Press, and Art and Text.

"With my artists' books I am interested in giving the reader a physical component to reading so that as the reader constructs meaning by arranging the pages of a book, he or she becomes more aware of how meaning is usually unconsciously constructed through a complexity of relationships and types of information."
