The Cowan collection was purchased in 1936 and has been added to ever since, so that UCLA has one of the finest collections of materials from southern California, including printed ephemera, postcards, etc. The Glozer California cookbook collection was purchased in 1958 and is added to actively. Dept. Head David S. Zeidberg worked with the LAOOC to arrange to accept the records when the games ended. The Amateur Athletic Association retains some rights to these materials, such as photographs.
