Manuscript leaf for the last page of Paul Monette's first novel, Taking
Care of Mrs. Carroll. This only surviving manuscript page shows the
working out of the conclusion of the novel. In the final version, Monette
cut everything after Madeleine's answer, "Fabulous," which appears two
thirds down this manuscript leaf. ca. 1977
